What We Need

Here are some of the items that would benefit our team. As you will see, no contribution is too small!

$1 – Fund a Bolt: as insignificant as bolts, screws, washers, and other tiny parts may seem, without them our robot would be just a pile of parts.

$5 – Fund a Wire: wires transfer electricity and information between all of the controllers and motors and servos. Without wires there would be no communication.

$10 – Fund a Tool: allen wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, rivet tools, wire strippers, hack saws, and crimpers are just a few of the tools of our trade.

$25 – Fund a Motor: motors make the robot move. They drive the wheels and the mechanisms for scoring points. Robots can use up to 8 motors. No motors = no movement.

$40  – Fund a Servo: what’s a servo, you ask? Servos are like mini motors. They are more compact than motors and are used for special applications, like powering an appendage on an arm. Robots can use up to 12 servos.

$80 – Fund a Controller: motors and servos need controllers to tell them how to perform. Fast, slow, forward, reverse, it’s all in the controller.

$100 – Fund Four Wheels: the wheels on the bot go ‘round and ‘round, all through the field. Every robot needs at least four.

$120 – Fund a Phone: Android phones are the magic tools we use for driving and controlling the robot. Having a spare, along with extra chargers, would be ideal . . . a malfunction or a dead battery would leave us dead in the water.

$150– Fund Some Swag: what’s a team without T-shirts and hats and other cool stuff? And we have a reputation to uphold; we are known for our great shirts and pink beanies.

$200 – Fund a Sensor: these are the “eyes” and “ears” of the robot. They can even be programmed to work autonomously, which gets us extra points.

$475 – Sponsor a Competition: two qualifiers then a state championship, that's the first goal! When we advance to the Super Regional tournament, we'll let you know.

$500 – Fund a Special Part: each year, a specific robot task or two are needed to score. It could be gathering balls, hanging from a bar, or raising a flag, and it always requires some special parts. Maybe a pulley or a drawer slide or a tank tread. Without the ability to score, the robot is just a pretty face.

$750 – Fund a Computer: programming and designing is done on a computer. We are very grateful for the “gently used” ones that have been provided by Mr. Kerns, but oh how nice it would be to have a newer, more powerful one.

$1000 – Fund a Team Member: our goal is to advance from the state competition to the Super Regional tournament in San Antonio, AND to have the funds to make the trip. It will cost about $1000 per person to get the, robot, tool, supplies, and all the people there.

$15,000 - Fund the Season: this will cover everything for the entire season, including a trip to the Super Regional!
